Kalene Michalovsky was born in Kamloops, British Columbia (BC), in 1994. She has received her Fine Arts Diploma from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, BC in 2019, and is on track to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the same institution in 2020. Kalene has been the recipient for two awards – the Ted Smith Visual Arts Award in Painting and the Fred Billows Memorial Award for photography – during her time at TRU. Currently, she resides in Kamloops with plans to move to Smithers, BC in the near future.
